The Nelson Mandela Foundation and the UN in South Africa launched: "The Nelson Mandela SDGs Quotes Book"

In November 2009 the UN General Assembly declared 18 July "Nelson Mandela International Day". A day to recognise and salute the former South African President’s contribution to the pursuit of peace, freedom, equality and development for all. On this commemorative day, we are reminded of Madiba’s Call to Action.

As Madiba said, it is truly in our hands “to create a better world for all who live in it.”

The United Nation in South Africa together with the Nelson Mandela Foundation launched a "Mandela SDGs Quotes Book", which matches Mandela’s famous sayings aligned to each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Book emphasizes the importance of sustainable development in our country and further highlighting that #ItIsInYourHands to work towards attaining the SDGs.

It is essentially a 'Call to Action".
